Hey guys!

I've made this design for a client, ensis records, for achieving 5000 subscribers on youtube. Please let me know what you think of this (it hasn't been sumbitted yet so changes can (and probably are) to be made.

Don't leak this to anywhere besides this forum please! Thanks in advance.

This is a facebook banner

And a 1000x1000 design for e.g. profile picture etc.

Let me hear your thoughts on this!! :)

Btw I'll probably blur the background a bit because I know... its interferring a bit with the fonts...

Yeah I know right... It looks a bit sallow... Colours aren't getting through enough or something... I'm trying to make the blacks deeper with curves so I'll upload a new version of this shortly.

I've done some changes based on the feedback. Blurred the background, tweaked it a bit with exposure and curves, added a vignette. How's it now?

Thanks for the feedback btw, I personally like this version a lot better!

I think the first one is better, the quality changed, which isn't nice.

Quality changed? They are both the exact same quality, nothing changed. The second one may seem blurry because of the blurred background. The text itself is 100% sharp.

Second, first one is better? Isn't it waaay to bright? As baka said, the text is almost unreadable in the first two images...

You always need to look at your work like a third "stupid" person.

Someone who doesn't know anything about photoshop or programs won't say: "oh look! he used gaussian blur!" They will just say "the quality is low."

Just a tip! But as I said, I liked the first one tho.

Okay, would you recommend using another form of blur?

well the problem was that is was to bright, right?

Then I think that lowering the opacity slightly should do the trick.

Otherwise you can play a bit with stuff like levels and brightness/contrast.

Yeah I've been doing that, wait I'll post the one I have right now. It has less overexposured areas and is only blurred at the edges like a vignette.

I like it, but just a quick tip. If you are ever going to blur - never 'half do it'. Always full on gaussian blur the whole thing. It's very fashionable to do this at the momento. :D

Keep it clean for 2015!

Thanks for the tip! So just gaussion blur it all the way, making it like one big blend of colours? Reason I didn't do it this time is because I spent hours and hours on the background and thought it'd be a loss to make it that blurry. Thanks for the tip though, I really like full gaussian blurs as well so might try that in one of my next designs :D
