So if you haven't heard it yet Arenanet has announced the 1st expansion pack for Guild Wars 2

It will be called "Heart of Thorns".

 

The major features are:

* The Mastery System

* New Area "The Heart of Maguuma"

* Profession Specializations

* New Profession 3rd Heavy armor class "The Revenant"

* Guild Halls

* New PvP Game Mode "Stronghold"

* New WvW Borderland

 

These are all the major features that are announced now.

Neither the release date or the price is released.

But the speculation is that the expansion might be free. 

But I wouldn't coun't on it :)

Anyways I am still very excited and probably going to get it no matter what .

 

And yes tough it would be really cool of them if they would give it out for free. (and probably beneficial for them to)

But it is also very understandable if they would released a boxed edition for let say 30 or something euros.

They are still a company that needs to make money.

 

As for the release date.

It isn't announced (yet!)

However at PAX east there will be a demo available of HoT.

And after the event a playable beta will be released and if that goes well, Arenanet will announce the release date

 

They will release more info as the time goes on so il update this post every now and then
