BakaRenders.com White Page Issue

Best Answer SirMoo, 13 September 2014 - 03:34 AM

So... I think I've solved the problem.

The site checks either the language of your computer or general location and gives you the website in your language. It also stores your language in a cookie.

While doing a security upgrade on the site... I noticed that a language file could not transfer over (Every file has permissions on who can read, write, and execute it). What file was broken? The Dutch language! It was set so no one could do anything. I couldn't even access it in the admin until I fixed the permissions. This explains why only Benelux users were having problems since most of you have things set to Dutch.

Thanks to Muppie for testing things for me. :)

Users have commonly reported that they receive blank pages while browsing BakaRenders.com. We've known about this issue for a while but don't have any data to pinpoint it down as it does not generate an error log note.

If you suffer from this problem please feel out the following in full and include any notes that you might think helpful.

We do encourage you to do to a FULL cache clear in your browser and to try a second computer on your network first and let us know if the problem persists.

If you use a proxy service to connect, please give us the first two sets of digits for your unmasked IP. (The numbers before and directly after the first period. Example 192.188 or 69.175)

Operating System:

Browser (Version Number):

Do you use any JavaScript blocking addons? (If so what?):

Do you use any Ad Blocking Software? (If so what?):

How often do you experience white pages:

What time of day do you experience these:

Your local time zone (GMT):

Do you use a proxy or any sort of VPN service (If so what?):

Well, could it appear in the Benelux only?
I am from Belgium, and I have only seen other individuals from the Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands) having the white page issue.

Anyhow:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium

Browser (Version Number): 64 bit

Do you use any JavaScript blocking addons? (If so what?): No

Do you use any Ad Blocking Software? (If so what?): No

How often do you experience white pages: Every time I click upon a link on the page/sub section.

What time of day do you experience these: 24/24, 7/7

Your local time zone (GMT): GMT+1 (Belgium)

Do you use a proxy or any sort of VPN service (If so what?): No

That's possible, but trying it through Dutch proxies doesn't seem to replicate any problems. Next time one of you get a white page... Can you try and see if the website will let you right 'View the Source' and just let me know if you see code or if it's completely blank.

I don't think this is the problem...

The site works perfectly fine on my laptop :S

(My laptop does have windows 8 on it if that makes a difference)

I'm doubting it's Windows 7... but that is an interesting coincidence.

Source is completely blank, only a number 1 in the upper-left corner and a blinking cursor in the upper-right corner.

Hay moo :D

I might have found the white screen of death problem :)

When I go to:(key)f12>Resources>cookies>bakarenders.com

I see a cookie that is called:

animerenders_data.

5UDeOP4.png

And when I delete that cookie and refresh my webpage the site does work again.

Il show it in this picture:

AIXOso9.png

However whenever I go to another link on the website I changes back to the 1st image.

Perhaps this might help?

Hmm yes It works better now.

The main page + the games render tab works now :D

However every other action that causes to change url results in the same issieu ( being the white screen)

However this is fixed with the same method as I did before.

This applies to any other tab + the menu options.

Even when you are in the game render tab and click the home button in the top menu

Put this into your chrome browser... Let me know what the Cookies setting is set to... Ideally it needs to be the top Recommended one (Allow Local Data to be set).

Problem is... I can't replicate it. It never happens to me. Ever. Not enough people have posted data regarding it so I can't really find a pattern.
